📚This study, published in the Lancet in early 2023 examined the relationship between serum sodium levels (a hydration indicator) and aging over a 25 year period. The findings reveal that individuals with poor hydration habits (indicated by higher serum sodium levels) face a 39% increased risk of developing chronic diseases and a 21% higher chance of premature death. Additionally, these individuals are up to 50% more likely to be biologically older than their chronological age. Considering the connection between hydration and aging, you could say that water is literally the fountain of youth!
